Budget bolt-action rifles are big sellers, and in 2013 Remington announced its newest affordable entry-level turnbolt, the Model 783. As spiritual successor to the brand’s previous budget models, including the Model 788, the 783 had big shoes to fill—and it entered a field of affordable rifles that was more crowded than at any time in history—but the 783 was a success for Big Green because it proved accurate and reliable despite its low cost.
