It’s Best to go into prairie chicken hunting with no real expectations except that you will be walking.
It’s not an unpleasant walk, and since it’s typically so hot these days during chicken season, it’s a short one. Two hours in the morning, up and down four large hills, just enough time to find a vein and hopefully a bird. You stop to see a historical marker, eat a Runza, and are home by noon.
