Bowhunters obsess over arrow weight. I'd argue it's the biggest topic in bowhunting. I get more emails, questions asked at seminars, and DMs on social media about this topic than about any other.
It's not a bad thing as arrow weight is very important. Here's my thought on arrow weight, and it has served me well for 26 bowhunting seasons. I typically use the same arrow for elk that I use for whitetail. I shoot a tweener arrow. A tweener arrow isn't heavy, nor is it light. It falls in the middle, to ensure my arrow speed doesn't dip too much and my arrows carry enough weight to penetrate deep, and often, pass through animals.
